Robert Provenzano, MD
President

Robert Provenzano is a prominent Detroit-area nephrologist. Provenzano is Partner & Co-Founder of Renal Care Innovation Holding LLC, Chief of the Division of Nephrology of Hypertension & Transplantation, Director of Nephrology Research, and Director of Acute Dialysis Services at St John Hospital & Medical Centerin Detroit, MI. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine He is the Chief Operating Officer of St Clair Specialty Physicians in Detroit, Chief Medical Officer Nephrology Practice Services and the Vice President of Medical Affairs for DaVita, Inc. He was also the lead physician at Colorado Springs Nephrology in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Provenzano works with several professional societies and advisory boards. He is past-President of the Renal Physicians Association, immediate past-Chair of the Board of Trustees for the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, and an active member of the American Society of Nephrologyand the American Society of Transplantation, and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Provenzano is also a member of the Michigan State Medical Society, Wayne County Medical Society, American Medical Association, International Society of Nephrology, Transplant Society of Michigan, American Society of Apheresis, International Society of Peritoneoscopists, and International Society of Blood Purification.

Roger A. Edwards, CPA
Chief Operating Officer

Roger Edwards CPA, is the Chief Operating Officer for Nephroceuticals. Roger has served in the original start-up operations of Nephroceuticals.

Mr. Edwards began his career with Huffy Corporation within their internal audit department, and then joined Ernst & Young leading audit and review engagements for some of the largest publicly and privately-owned companies in the Dayton/Cincinnati/Columbus, Ohio areas. Mr. Edwards later served as a Senior Director of Product Management and Software Development for Reynolds & Reynolds, a Fortune 1000 Technology based company headquartered in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Edwards specializes in business operations and commercialization, and has served as an investor, as well as a co-founder of Gem City Business Solutions, LLC. Roger is a Certified Public Accountant within the State of Ohio and holds a dual major in Accountancy and Finance from Wright State University.

Balaji Gandhi
Board Member

Balaji Gandhi has over 20 years of healthcare experience spanning investment research, corporate development and public policy. He is currently drawing on those experiences to help grow Madaket, an early-stage company using software-as-a-service to automate manual administrative processes in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Madaket, he spent nearly a decade working for the CEOs of Press Ganey and Fresenius Medical Care, responsible for M&A activity, investor relations and various strategic projects. His investment experience includes a decade as an equity research analyst following healthcare companies for several investment banking firms and a stint with GE Capital where he was responsible for evaluating debt investment opportunities in health care services companies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rochester and a Master of Health Administration degree from George Washington University.

Mariano Gutierrez
Board Member

Mariano Gutierrez is a Vice President at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City. Throughout his career, Mariano has developed extensive business networks in the intersection between finance, pharma, healthcare and technology. He is an angel investor active in the MIT startup ecosystem. Earlier in his career, Mariano held several government and diplomatic posts in Mexico and France. After his political appointments, he was a lobbyist for Pfizer and MetLife working between Washington, New York and Latin America. Outside of his corporate career, Mariano has volunteered for nonprofit organizations focused on finding cures for prostate cancer, crohn’s disease and colitis. He also serves as treasurer in Global Ties U.S., a global nonprofit that funds international exchanges to create a more interconnected world. Mariano holds a BA in international relations from El Colegio de Mexico, a master’s degree in political science from Sciences Po Paris and an MBA from MIT. The American Chamber of Commerce Mexico bestowed upon him the Yiacatecutli Award for his “distinguished service in the promotion of U.S.-Mexico business relations”.

Josh Jackson
Board Advisor

Josh Jackson is a proven sales leader, leveraging over 30 years of broad healthcare marketing and sales experience, from medical start-up organizations to large publicly traded multi-national companies. For the past 5 years Mr. Jackson, Head of US Medical Business Development, has been employed at Sagentia, Inc. a science and technology product development consultancy. Prior to Sagentia Mr. Jackson held a variety of business development positions at firms including Medtronic and DePuy Orthopedics. Mr. Jackson holds a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Biology from Hartwick College.
